BROWSTON APIARY

Welcome to the online home of the Browston Apiary.

We are Beekeepers located in East Norfolk on the Norfolk/Suffolk border.

We sell:-

  • Honey.
  • Nucleus Colonies of bees.
  • Local Queens - not imported.

All are subject to availability of course! Check the 'Contact Us' page to get in touch (Or there might be something on the News page - click the link is at the bottom of this one for more details).

Despite what you read in the 'papers, beekeeping is thriving in the UK, although wild colony numbers have been severely depleted due to disease and habitat loss. The reason why the number of hived bees has grown is partly because more people have taken up the craft in recent years and also because we are able to manage disease better. For the moment at least. Worryingly there are threats around the corner from imported pests so we do need to vigilant!

The site contains general information about:-

  • Bees and beekeeping in general
  • Honey production
  • Queen Rearing.
  • Swarm collection

There is also information specifically for beekeepers in the Beekeepers' Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section. This contains some advice on often asked specific topics of beekeeping practice and will be expanded as time allows. We hope you enjoy our website.

Note: The site has recently been updated to a new format and some of the links may not work yet. Please be patient as they are worked through or let us know where they don't! Thanks!
